If its the rear brakes, then it could be a broken park brake shoe fastener. There is a bulletin about this.

Dealer told me it was outside the VIN Nos. Then they told me: 'all asbestos free pads squeal'.
In for service next week. Said they would look into it again“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Mine has been in today for the same reason. Dealer told me that they couldn't see anything obvious, but have removed the discs, cleaned and refitted. No noise yet, so will see how long it lasts!!

The squeaking noise just got worse!!!!!
travelling along the M42 today the car developed one hell of a vibration. At first it felt like one of the wheels hadn't been tightened properly, but after pulling onto the hard shoulder and calling LR assist, the diagnosis was that the electronic parking brake was sticking on and that the heat generated on the motorway was causing it to bind. Car is now at Solihull Stratstone and i have got a Jaguar XJ for a courtesy car. The wife just laughed and got my pipe and slippers ready for when i got back.
So might pay for you to get them to look at your parking brake Chris666.
Hope this helps. Don't wait for your ship to come in,
swim out and meet the bl**dy thing.

chris666.
Just wondering if you got a fix for this ? Ours has recently started displaying the same symptoms , just before it passed the 7K mile mark.

Mine started squeaking about a week ago. Booked it in to Stratstones, gave them the TSB for the brake squeal (LA206-002) and left them to it.
They returned it 24 hours later after fixing the problem which was the TSB plus a motor for the EPB which had mysteriously failed (but i had never noticed a problem with the EPB...)
