I/c hose replaced last night with no issues. Took it for a test drive and the beast is much better. No smoke when you ask it to do a bit. Still a bit sluggish though so I'm going to wiggle my actuator arm today. The engine system fault seems to have cancelled down.....for now.
Thanks for the help guys!

As a last attempt to try and get rid of the burning smell that seems to come from the right front wheel arch I am replacing my Intercooler Pipe tomorrow using the instrcutions above.
The only think I can't work out is how to undo the plastic shield, do you just leaver up the middle part of the fixing with a screw driver?
Can anyone explain please.Club Narpy Torch

Does the burning smell have to do with the intercooler pipe?

I really don't know, the 'smell' happened the same time as my alternator went, but is still there after replacement, it does sem to come from around there.
If this doesn't fix it, the next srtep will be to take it to my local Spanish Stealer who's minimum charge sems to be Euro 500, so I thought it is worth a go given the pipe has been on since new (96k miles) so due for a change anyway. Club Narpy Torch

Interesting to note that LR don't sell the short hose on its own. They only sell it attached to the metal tube which runs forward towards the front of the car at a price in excess of £100. How on earth do you get the metal pipe out?
I have removed my old hoses in anticipation of receiving my set of new ones from Allisport. I have loosened off the metal pipe as recommended by Disco_Mikey but for the life of me I can't see how it could be removed without some difficulty. Not that I want to remove it but just curious.
