Has anybody seen (or heard of) the small hose failing? Or noticed a performance improvement after its been changed?
Considering its straight, short and the two solid pipe appear to come very close to each other I'm wondering if its worth the effort....
Guess the worry is that its the weak link once all the others have been changed....

I reckon I can do both the larger hoses, but if I get stuck with the smaller one and cannot get it back together, would I still be able to drive the car to a local garage. I always worry about not being able to finish what I start. It has not happened yet, but there is always a first time!
Also, as a11geo asked, has anyone seen a small hose fail?2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Thanks robbo. In the photos of the small hose, it does not look like there is enough of a gap between the two pipes that is connected to, to get the old hose off and the new one on. What was it that was slackened off to make room?
I will plan for a long weekenk.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Great thread guys.
Just had my drivers side I/C hose off today. No splits but the bottom end looks deformed.
There was a small amount of oil that had leaked from the hose where it connects to the I/C. I have replaced the old one and tightened it and ordered a new one which will be here on Monday!
Am I correct in assuming that if oil can leak out then so can gas which would give me a lack of power at low revs.
I'll let you know if it solves my problem. If not I will have to look at the other 2 hoses as I have done my fuel filter, had a new alternator and blanked ,the egr valves. If this doesn't solve it I think I will have to look at the turbo!
