Expedition rack mods
Has anyone attach a shovel or hi lift jack to the roof of an expedition rack, and if so how and where? I plan on attaching a shovel to my rack using quick fists, possibly to the roof slats using the tracking system. Anybody have pics?

I use these for a shovel on the rack (8mm bolt) and also mount a shovel on the exped trailer Duncan

Will the Quick Fists hold something like a HiLift if you do emergency braking?

I wouldn't think so. I would be happier using the standard high lift mounting system that clamps the jack through one of the holes. They are a very heavy missile waiting to be launched when put on a roof rack.
Their advertising says to use three for a high-lift.
But how do you get the high-lift to fit onto the Discovery to lift it?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Only if you have sliders an aftermarket bumper or you can get the tire adapter and lift from the wheels. A hilift jack can also be used as a winch.Narpy's Grill Mod, Suspension Rods, Ultra guage, wrangler Goodyear duratracs 265/60/18, new thermostat, diff oils changed, brake switch new, aluminum rack floor, LED driving lights in foglights, rear camera, just need gvif unit, next on list! New front arb bushings, new front valve block, 191,000 miles.

Use the slots in your tree slider?

I hoped to hear of a new way - onto the hitch reciever perhaps, or fittings for the winch tray. I used stainless screws and rectangular hex nuts which you can get from a motorcycle store. Here's a link to a similar square nut I used.
