** FIXED** Rear Entertainment ... Headphone issue
I have the rear entertainment system in the car and cannot get the headphones to work at all. I have tried everything I can think of...... I EVEN read the manual (for all the good it is) No luck.. nothing seems to help. This is a plea for help, as if I have to listen to another episode of Bob the ing Builder it is just possible I may turn into a crazed phsyco killer, with my only defence for my actions being... "BOB THE BUILDER was in my head telling me to do it"!!

All we did on ours was put the batteries in and turn on, from memory you can select a channel on headphonesbut not in the car at moment so cannot confirm thatMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Cheers Russel, That's what I'd have expected but didn't work and have tried both sets of Headphones! Suspect may be issue with Whitefire transmitter but just wanted some advice before having to take back to dealer.Disco 4 HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Headphones are very suseptable to batteries and need to have good quality batteries that are fully charged.
Just been out and checked, turn on the headphones, and should get a light indicating they are on, ensure RSE is turned on and the screens are playing/showing film, then use the channel button on headphones to select a channel. Cannot tell how many channels there are to go through as ours are now tunned and locked onto the RSE monitors. You must be sat inside the car in the seat viewing the monitor, if you try to tune whilst stood say in the open door way of the car they will not work.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Cheers Russel, Yep done all that... no joy. The batteries were brand new still in the pack that came with the headphones and the red power LED does come on. Maybe I'll try swapping the Batts for Duracells just in case the ones that came with the system are rubbish! ..... ALthough I can't believe LR would supply cheap products........ Would they? Ours lit the red led but headphones did not work, fitted Duracell and they work fine now but go through batteries fairly quickly.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

in the RSE menu ensure you select each screen to have an output and select to have the headphone active, this is easily switched off by error, same setup as i had in my FFRR, then the headphones should work striaght away, either channel A or B as this is all the system supports, both right or left passengers listen to the same apparently.
I am trying to get this unit intergrated to my RSE upgrade so any info I find out I will let this post know too.

Thanks Robb, but I cannot find anywhere in the menus that has the option to either select "headphone" as an output or to turn headphones on/off. Am I being thick here... .... Please feel free to post a pic or give me an idiots guide 'cause I just can't get the damn things working! Disco 4 HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

On the D4 you select and turn on each screen or both screens, you then select the source of the media you want to play and the sound comes straight out of the headphones, there is not an option that I have found to turn on or off the headphones, I will check again on way home to=night but 99% sure there is no option to turn them on or off.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

...... Or in my case doesn't!
Appreciate the help Russell...... I think I am coming back round to my original theory, that it must be an issue
with the system...... On the bright side... If it is, then at least it means I'm not potentialy as thick as I was
thinking I could be! Disco 4 HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

UPDATE ---- All fixed and working perfectly
Took car in to dealer and low & behold, some silly ar e had put the
wrong headphones in the car. They'd put the ones from the Fullfat in instead of
the RRS / Disco version. They look identical except that the Fullfat has an A/B switch
for Channel select & the correct Disco ones just have a push button marked Channel.
Dealer swapped them over there and then out of a new RRSport and woopee do, no more
listening to the wee fellas Bob the Builder....... Aaaaaaahhh ... Bliss Disco 4 HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
