2013 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Fuji WhiteDiscovery 4

Hi,

I am hoping to install some front parking sensors (assume PDC is the same thing in this context).

Hope you don't me chipping into your thread but seems better than creating a new one.

If you don't mind me asking where did you buy your sensors from and how much did they cost?
Also how and where exactly do they mount? There aren't that many D4's out here for me to look at!

I only received the vehicle here a few days ago and I'm so annoyed with myself when specc'ing it (via email working from a list) that I missed that the HSE doesn't come with front parking sensors as standard.

I have the rear sensors and camera etc so from the small amount of reading I have done on here I think it's a case of mounting the sensors, plugging into the wiring already present behind one of the headlights(?) then getting then enabled in software?

Is this something that a main dealer can do as I've seen references to what I assume is 3rd party ECU tools but I bet no-one has those here?

Thanks in advance guys, looking forward to the responses.

Hmm that doesn't bode too well. On other threads (may have been Disco 3 related) it seemed to suggest if you have rear park sensors already then it was only a question of sensors, maybe a small bit of loom and to enable them in software.

Is Nick at Yeovil the person to ask? I will try PM'ing him.

It is as simple as replacing the front bumper loom (several options depending on whether you have front fogs, front camera or combinations thereof), adding the sensors, the mounts, the spacers to the bumper (now you may end up needing to drill the holes, or may be better just replacing the front bumper with one with the cut outs in the right place) and then getting a Faultmate or similar to enable in the ECU.

However, if you don't have the rear PDC, then you have to change and add a whole lot more.

That disable switch is the only bit I'm unsure about. My 2011 version of Microcat doesn't show what I'm looking for. The ECU, which is/was a common part number between D3 and 4 has 2 ports as standard to cater for front and rear PDC input.

It's just that facia switch that needs to be found out.

Hi Dave,

Why the mystery about what the other model is? Wouldn't you just say it's a FFRR or a RRS or a defender.... Whatever??

I don't get it, that's all Confused

Ive done this and it didnt work !! But Wiggs and me were talking and the only bit i havent fitted was the switch on the A/C control unit which turns on and off the front sensors, which you can't get on its own you have to buy the full ac control panel Shocked

Ive had them enabled by Wiggs so as soon as can aquire the relevant part at decent money i wont Know if they work !!
I have added everything else for the mod, bar the switch so hopefully it is the solution !!
