50k on Pirelli Scorpion ATRs

In 2015 I had 4 Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres fitted to my D3. The fronts lasted 40k miles and the backs are still going strong at nearly 50k miles, although I have now just had an irreparable puncture in one.

It's a shame these tyres are now superseded.

I did the same on a set of GG ATs that I’ve just replaced for Goodyear Duratrac.

I think most decent ATs should do high mileage if looked after

Currently I’ve the opposite problem. I bought 5 scorpion ATR 255/55/19 and only fitted 4 which have now done
50K Km and are only 1/2 worn. but I have tyre number 5 which was never even mounted on a rim. Do I sell it now or wait incase I need it but it’s too new to match the on car tyres 🤔

^ Shocked

I always get approx. 50k miles from a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATR’s.

Admittedly, the majority of those miles are on the motorway, which is easy on wear.

They’re available elsewhere as well. Although that’s not a bad price, even factoring in the cost of fitting etc.

I was quite pleased with 20k as the previous Pirelli zeros didnt make 15k and had been feeling weird for some time.
The ATR were not toally dead and had between 2 and 4mm but they handled weirdly and had been doing so for at least a year.
They had worn nice and even with no noticeable strange wear patterns.

Obviously the only fatcor that is commonin all the tyre sets I have had is me!

I dont do much motorway and now only do short commutes, total mileage for most weeks might get to a hundred.
