I have noticed today that I'm getting a bad smell from the heater vents in my D4. It is almost like a sewage sort of smell.
Has anyone had this or have any idea what it could be.
Many thanks I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!

Bacteria build up from your air-con?

Yep, you need a can of debugger.

I had a similar thing with my old D3 here:
http://disco4.com/forum/topic55716.html
turned out it was the washer bottle and the smell was being sucked back through the vents when I drove. Baby sterilising fluid sorted it out perfectly.

What is debugger and how would I use it? I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!

You can get a tin of aircon cleaner, you put the aircon on full put the tin on the floor release it and close the doors.
It works 95% of the time sometimes with such a big system you might have to do it twice.

As others say its probably your washer bottle but in reply to your question about 'debuggers', I have found Comma Air Con Cleaner effective and well worth a fiver to freshen up the system (I think Halfords sell it or have a look at evil bay item eBay Item No. 150965119229). Its easy to use and comes with instructions; basically you set your air con on full, activate the can, close the door and leave it to do its work. Now an ex D3 owner but still with a brace of FL2s

As bacteria is the root cause, I've previously been advised to turn the heating to max, run it for 15 and let the blighters burn!
