I only ask because over the last few years LR seem to re-define the concept on a yearly basis.....I have bought black vents and matching grille, and the paint code is "Narvik Black" which is a solid ie non-metallic colour.
I assume this is a discontinued version of black ?
I am now thinking of matching door handles.I can buy a touch-up paint in this colour, and paint the original door handles, but would rather get originals so I can switch back in the future ? Anyone know the nearest current match to Narvik ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Narvik is the solid black that LR are currently using on trim pieces.
There hasn't been a solid black body colour on D3/D4. I think the Freelander 2 has/had Narvik black available. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

You can definitely get genuine Narvik Black handles for the D3, not currently sure for the D4. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Yes, the handles are the same but you have the keyless panels in the handles which complicates things! 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Check with Nick regarding Narvik painted handle availability for D4 - you should be able to order the "Black Design Pack" handles with the keyless panels. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

The none-keyless genuine ones are LR006950 and around £120 a set. Powerful's are overpriced. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I think you're going to at the price of 4 keyless handles
Your other option is these which I think are covers, it's not clear though: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DOOR-HANDLES-201...0487012369
But apparently they will only fit the RANGE ROVER DISCOVERY 4 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Personally, I wouldn't go the cheapest option for handles, they are touched all the time and so are subject to rubbing that normal body panels aren't.
If you do go down that route you will have to make very sure that the surface is perfectly prepped as otherwise it'll react or not stick properly and end up flaking off or peeling.
Depends if a few hours of your time (with the risk of it not working) is actually works out cheaper than the £90 ones I found. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

No,you are correct, full replacement part would be correct way to go....looked at the Hawke ones you found on fleabay and they say they are not the stick-on over the original bits,so looks the way to go...once I have a lie down in a darkened room I might give Nick a shout "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Black is Black IMO
Personally don't think it'll make any difference which black you get.
It'll still look the same.
It's only door handles you're doing and that's not close to any other black bits.
I would only be [slightly] concerned if it was a black part that was matching to a black body panel....
... but even then ......!
Get over it Euan
btw, my Landmark has gloss black bits, satin black bits and even matt black bits ...
[all in the right places afaic] .... all looks in order to me ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

That was sort of the conclusion I was coming to ...its far enough away from other bits of trim,as you say, that any slight variance in shade wouldn't be obvious...
Note to self...stop being so bloody anally retentive...
From Wikipedia
"The term retentive (also anally retentive), commonly abbreviated to anal,[1] is used conversationally to describe a person who pays such attention to detail that the obsession becomes an annoyance to others, potentially to the detriment of the anal-retentive person. The term derives from Freudian psychoanalysis"
Yup...that about covers it... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
