2 stroke oil (people in the know) |
|
What is actual spec I need to buy and how much to add per tank of fuel.
I will be ordering off the net to get delivery as tesco don't seem to stock it!!
I have done a search but page after page and I can't find a definitive answer I'm happy with.

Mineral JASO FC is the most commonly available, and is usually the cheapest look for Castrol Actevo 2 T.
Most people use a 1:200 ratio, so 425 ml for a full tank I. I tend to work on 500 ml for a full tank & pro ratia.
Fully synthetic 2sO does not burn ashfree and as such is not suitable for vehicles with DPF.
This is aside from the fact that it is substantially more expensive than normal mineral or
semi-synthetic 2sO conforming to JASO-FC.

Could someone summarise what this does, what are the benefits and is this just for the D3?
Thanks

There are hundreds of pages of discussion on this, but in my opinion this is what it does. It replaces the lubricating properties of the sulphur that has been taken out of diesel fuel. In turn that keeps the fuel system pumps and injectors lubricated. It also keeps the engine, turbo, EGR valves, FBH etc clean internally. It also slightly helps fuel consumption and makes the engine run a bit quieter.
Thats just my opinion, others will perhaps disagree. I also use Castrol Actevo 2T.

Silly question!
The bigger the rock the fewer miles per gallon.
