Double din DVD /bluetooth head unit?
Has anyone on the forum ever removed the standard landrover unit (CD/radio player) and replaced with an after market double din DVD player?
If so are there any recommendations or things to bare in mind if doing it?
My main reason for doing this is to allow me to play music from mp3 player but also to use the Bluetooth phone connection.
The cable to the aux in the back is a pain and I don't have the built in Bluetooth.
I also find the standard green screen on the landrover unit is a bit basic.

Stereo
Hi
You can change the stereo only if you have the lowline version, you cannot change the high line system as its not just a stereo it also acts as a command system and cannot be removed.
Cheers

As Mike says, the high-line IHU (Integrated Head Unit) unit also integrates with the navigation system, touch screen display and GPS (global positioning system) antenna. It is also the Bus Master for the MOST system and contains the timing master for the MOST system.

I had the low line CD and have replaced it with a Pioneer double DIN unit. Has inbuilt Bluetooth for phone and handsfree as we'll as audio streaming. Lots of inputs for my car pc also
Used a double din kit plus a loom adaptor to allow the steering wheel controls to work also.....
Go for it

Silly question then but how do I know if I have the high line or low line unit?
Ids... how does your pioneer system look on the dash? Have you got any pics to get an idea? Also wondering what it set you back as I've seen systems from £200 to £2000..!

Hi
I'll go and take some pictures later but I brought a Pioneer FH-P80BT. Its not touch as most of the fancy stuff I do on my car pc, who's screen is in the case of the Land Rover Satnav unit above
I also brought
Land Rover Discovery 3 Steering Wheel Interface Adaptor
- Choose Your Car Stereo Patch Lead: Pioneer
CT23LR02 Land Rover Discovery III Facia Panel Adaptor
PC5-100 Range Rover Car Aerial Antenna Adaptor
To fit the thing......
Works well for me. The Bluetooth is awesome as well as me being able to connect everything I need to the head unit

Only got a quick shot today.
Have a look at http://sdrv.ms/161sJaz - I need to move the fitting kit back slightly to make it flush but not too much a problem. A bit retro as well but works really well and the sound is great.
