Loss of Power

Hi all
my wife has mentioned that on 2 occassions now, that she has exsperianced loss of power. she described it happening at low speed and engine rpm, while cornering. she goes to accellarate, but nothing, then as quick as it happens, all come back and all is fine.

any one else exsperianced this? D4 is 2 weeks old on friday.
 Cheers
Keith

mr t
that seems a reasonable answer, as both vehicles are fitted with hand controls so i can drive them.

Yes Keith. A couple of times (new four weeks ago) when slow cornering into an incline, as the gearbox has kicked down, there has been that type of lag in the revs. It's only a split second but enough to notice it (evidently). I'll live with it for a while and see if it disappears than try the dealer for a resolution.

I had similar symptoms on mine:

Quick fix, but the dealer had to order the part first.

getting exactly the same on ours. You go round a corner, put your foot down and nothing happens. Suddenly seems to realise that you want power and takes off like a scalded cat!

Experimented today driving in a straight line. Took my foot off the throttle and let the car slow naturally to about 10mph. Put my foot on the throttle and there is a massive delay until anything happens.

Have also noticed when entering an island, that the car seems to be in too low a gear!It doesnt seem to change down automatically to a low enough gear.

Its going back to the deler next week. not bad eh! 2 weeks old, 540 miles on the clock and its already been back twice.

First time was a restricted performance message and the deler said a rat had eaten through a vacuum pipe!

start using the command shift and shift manually! Very Happy

I find in city it works much better, no response issues.

When in full auto mine feels like it likes driving around in 4th unless I really boot it then it will drop back.

Above the solution for this problem was posted: Go to your dealer, there is a fix for that. There is a valve that will probably be changed and also there is a software update for the brake sensor, which in some situations gives the signal not to accelerate for security reasons (especially when doing turns or so).

Also experienced loss of power 3 times in last 24hrs. No warning lights on dash.

1st: Slowing down to turn into a junction, apply power, nothing for 1-2 secs then it came back.
2nd: Pulling out of a junction, no power for 1-2 secs then it came back
3rd: Only a minute after 2nd time, died as turning into drive, then power came back.

Only other thing I've noticed, a few times preceding these events is the battery light has stayed on after starting for a few secs but suspect this is unrelated?

Any ideas appreciated.
