Homemade Rear cargo divider
Why did LR not make a net cargo divider, I have got a travall metal divider but it's a lot of hassle to take in and out ad hoc when I need the two rear seats, also if I'm out and the kids need 2 mates to jump in they can't as there is no where to put the divider......so I have made my own net one
Its ok, doesn't quite reach the sides, 80% happy with it.
I kept buying different ones for SWMBOs Antara after trying stitching a couple together and being told it looked c p.
stiff black tube might make the top easier to keep at or near the roof ?

yes maybe, I'm going to leave it in and see how it goes and maybe modify it.

One of the primary purposes of the metal cargo divider is to stop the cargo flying through the motor under heavy braking or in a collision. While this looks pretty and is probably better than nothing ..it isn't going to prevent things from entering the main cabin.

true its not as good but I really only have fairly light stuff back there, on camping trips when I load it up the metal one will go in.
I'm just trying to find a solution to having the flexibility of using the 7 seats and having a cargo barrier when I'm only using 5.
Any other ideas

It's a balance of requirements for sure ... as long as the limitations are anticipated

for sure you're right
Just wish there was a LR option that I could have and keep the option of using rear seats

hi
just an idea , but have used some clear perspex before now, ( alas not in my current landy ) used cardboard to make a pattern , then after cutting the perspex to shape i’ve fixed a piano hinge so i could fold it up out of the way when not in use
don’t know if fitting a piano hinge horizontally , so that u could fold the top half down when u wish to use the back seats or have all of them folded down , or which ever arrangement is best
i also drilled a few small holes in the perspex so that it didn’t bend when i closed the door
will get my coat

hi crip10
would it work with the perspex folded in half either placed behind the back of the middle seat or tucked down the side with the rear seats up
shame there wasn’t a way of utilising the rear handles as a fixing point , so a sheet could be hinged up onto the headlining , then released down when the rear seats weren’t in use
hope u find something that suits ur requirements

Can you do anything with the load net the comes with the discovery? I use it on the cargo barrier so the kids have somewhere to stash all the coats you may be able to make it reach across.
