With any 4x4, if you only have one set of chains they must go on the front. Most of your braking and all of your steering is done with the front wheels and chains are as much about control as actually getting moving in the first place.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The total size of the wheel (alloy + rubber) is the same for all discos. Somebody knows?
Not quite - same diameter but the 17" tyres are narrower (side to side) than the 18" and 19" tyresSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Yes didn't think about it as I am used to put them in the front for front wheel driven cars.
Where the hell do beamer drivers their chains?
on the back, powered wheels

The front one is a landrover part, you can fit the asfir gearbox and rear diff one with any sump guard. Hope this helps.CLUB "Ah Shor it'll be grand"

Chris, I didn't see the photos of the rear plates and diff guard in your gallery. Did you take any shots before they were installed? How about after? Can you take some shots from underneath?

Do you have any more details on the sill protectors? I found a spanish outback imports site, but I couldn't find them on there.
I'm concerned that the don't protect the bottom of the doors. Is this an issue?
Cheers, Steve
