Best way to fill a fuel filter?

Just about to have my first go at changing a fuel filter and I'm sure I read somewhere on the forum that it is best to fill the new filter before fitting it.

So I wondered if anyone has a brilliant tip for getting diesel in through those tiny holes without getting it all over the place.

Just turn the ignition on a few time to get the fuel pump pushing it through, then turn the engine over Thumbs Up

I just use the ignition switch a few times as it is all that is needed on a D3.
