In Car Digital Television Tuner
Can anyone tell me what the quality of Digital reception is like when driving. Is the picture continuous or does it break up?
I am hoping people with rear entertainment can view TV while on long journeys.

the in dash Tv tuner switches off the picture once car is moving - sound is ok though.
picture is good whilst stationary, but all depends on where you are and what the reception is like !Duncan

I have he d3hybrid unit which I think is the same as the one in the d4. It uses the same in window ariels.
On the move tv reception is ok upto 70mph, but it all depends on where you are and the reception.
I can be at friends in north Wales stationary on the drive and not have any reception, but have brill reception at 70 on the m1
That is what the passengers tell me anyway.... d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack
D3 with the following
Alive Tuning EGR blanking kit
Alive Tuning Re-map
Alive Atrics console
Samco intercooler hoses (from Alive Tuning)
Alive Tuning De-Cat pipe, lovely tone!

Not sure if you can do this in a D4 and it would not be cheap.
I bought at GVIF unit off HIDS4U for my D3. Besides Blackvue's and reversing camera I added a twin TV tuner from www.parkmyauto.co.uk.
The internal antennas (35db) gave a poor reception in my area so I bought their twin external antennas which are 96db each and the result is incredible. I do have the TV working on the move, routed to the rear headrest strap on DVD in the rear for the daughter - brilliant! These are the antennas.
Not sure if they can be added to a D4 system without the GVIF? Us older Discovery variants have to upgrade more than the lucky D4 owners
P.S. I hope Discotres sees this post as he has got me spending money by following his posts, tyre monitors, go pro etc.2 x D3's (Twins)

There's a brand new tuner module in the 2013MY ...not sure if it can be retrofitted Reception, picture quality and stability is much better than my last TV in the D3 which had poor picture quality and struggled to pick up channels. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
