Telescopic dog ramp, ideal for a D3 if you've got an older dog that isn't up to jumping in and out, or so I thought! Unfortunately my dog refuses to use it and I have to lift all 60Kg of her in and out So other than a few attempts at bribing her to walk up it it's not been used

My 11 year old Heinz 57 wouldn't bl**dy use it - stupid creature leapt out of the back OVER the lower tailgate before I could open it! I know how that works - in those rare times when I don't want him to jump down, my 4 yr old golden retriever will climb over the tailgate to get out. When I put the tailgate down so he can get down, my 2 yr old golden will jump down promptly, but he'll go walk up to the front and lay down or stand there looking at me expectantly as if to say "Okay, you want me to get out - I'll stand here until you lift me down."
He's not dumb, but he is on anti-convulsants to prevent seizures - I would not be surprised if the problem is that he doesn't feel secure jumping down, even if I lower the suspension to access height. Vertigo ? I don't know.
<sigh>
I'm looking into a ramp, but I suspect the ones you can buy aren't wide enough for him to use comfortably. (and it's not worth paying shipping from the UK ) I have in mind a wider ramp made of aluminium that is somehow clamped to the tailgate for stowage.
