Ball joints?

I'm looking for some advice.
I'm getting wheel wobble at high and low speeds.
I've had the tracking checked out and it seems to be fine. Could it be worn ball joints causing it?

Could be a number of things...ball joints, wheel bearings, wishbone bushes, lower steering column bush or anti roll bar bushes, buckled wheel, tyres....

Is that all!? Shocked

I was hoping that it would be something simple and easy to identify. Looks like I'm to have to get it checked out at the garage, hopefully it won't be too expensive.

I'm suffering from the same. Do you experience any knocking sounds when going over bumps or cats eyes etc? Unfortunately steering/suspension components are a common problem on the RRS and Disco3 Sad

I already changed my front wheel bearings as they were shot and have just ordered some new lower wishbones on the group buy which will hopefully resolve my knocking sound. If the wobble is still there then at least I won't have the knocking sound the bushes make. Bow down

I did think about the bushes but I'm pleased to say I'm not getting any knocking sounds, not yet anyway Whistle

The only real symptom is the wheel wobble which is more annoying than anything else but tI don't rant to ignore it for it to turn into something worse.

You seem to be having quite a few problems. How long have you had your Disco? What sort of driving are you doing?

I've got a RRS but they're pretty much the same thing. I've had it since march - it's an 06 reg so probably why the problems have come around. I mostly drive it on dual carriageways and a bit around town but not off road or anything exciting like that Laughing

If I get mine sorted next week I'll let you know what it was that resolved it. With yours I'd have all 4 wheels balanced before looking at anything else. Thumbs Up

It sounds like a lot of wear on the suspension etc for just road driving. The previous owner may have taken it off road in the past.

Mine goes off road but nothing too rough. It's quite flat where I live but it still gets a good run out. It's a bit more of a challenge with all the rain we've had a all the grass tracks are more like mud ruts now. At least it let's me use the terrain response. Roll on the snow Very Happy

I've got the same problem and have already changed my track rods and rod ends. Doing the same as kav1187 and have ordered new wishbones (and ARB bushes) from the group buy - fingers crossed it'll sort the wobble.

Let me know how you get on.

I will probably book mine in for a health check soon, it would be good to get your feedback before I get the diagnoses and potential hefty bill from the garage.

So kav1187, did the new lower arms resolve your wobbling issue.....?

Follow up for anyone searching - the new front lower suspension arms cured my wheel wobble.
