D4 XS ordered - delivery times and extras?

Got bored of mickey taking PX and "discounts" offered by local dealers (I'm not one for haggling) so I've just ordered a D4 XS from one of the broker sites that buy from UK dealers. Discount is reasonable without being eye-watering, but they're giving me some equity on my current car whicb nobody else was offering.

They're quoting 15 weeks delivery - although I see someone on the site ordered this week for March delivery (mine'll be May). Is there a standard delivery time or do I assume someone got a build slot that was available?

The other thing is with this longish delivery time I have oodles of time to make changes to the spec! So far we have Indus Silver and ebony interior with privacy glass, electric seat pack, rear camera and tow pack. As I've saved a few quid on the car I could probably add another option or two (I'll have the timed heating activated after I've got it) - is there anything I'll kick myself for not spending a few quid on?

And colour-wise - I've had too many black cars, and my current one is red with beige interior so silver seems the logical choice, but I was wondering about baltic blue - has anyone got one and are there any pics anywhere? If I get a blue I want it to be proper dark blue - not sure I've seen a D4 in baltic in the flesh. I quite like the grey ones too...

Decisions, eh? Who'd have 'em? Smile

Xenons are seven hundred quid? I've had xenons on my last two cars so not sure how much I'll notice going back to halogens - although to be fair I don't drive a lot at night. D'you reckon they're worth it for £700? How about heated steering wheel? I sort of thought timed heat would sort that out?

No, another broker site (not sure what the rules are about advertising other sites?) - a hundred and fifty quid less than that one.

Cheers - i was wondering about the heated wheel - am i right in thinking if i have times climate activated on cold mormings the heating should automatically run for 20 mins or so?

And any thoughts on xenons? Worth the cash?

I've not read anything about the timed heater flattening the battery - does that happen? I tend to be out anywhere from 0630 to 0800 and recently i've been rushing out to turn the car on to de-ice etc, so i really like the idea of timed heating.

I'm driving an HSE at the weekend so i'll have a look at the fairy lights then and have a think.

Wiggs - you fit after-market remote and timed heating, don't you? Is there any issue with adding the remote antenna etc to a car that's on a PCP? Would they know and/or care when it went back? If not, i might get the remote version fitted as that (I guess) does away with battery worries as you only run it when you need it.

Andy you will be fine with the timed climate, I use it every day and only do about 20 miles a day taking my daughter to school and it has never flattened the battery or had to shut off early because the battery was low, I went for the remote as a factory fit as it comes in handy to warm the car up at short notice if you have to go out. Also I have the heated steering wheel and despite DD's Censored remarks Rolling Eyes I think it's great Thumbs Up

Timed Heater is a waste of time and I don't trust it not to flatten the battery,

Cock Whistle

Are you back to posting shat again ?

The car has a battery monitoring system on it which will shut down the timed climate before it flattens the battery
