What size did you go for Stuart?
I've just ordered a set of 265/65/18's as I was after a little more rubber between me and the road than my 275/45/20's afford.
Yours are still looking mint after 17k.
Had any moments?

I went with 255/60/18's stock standard size and have not had any drama with them. Keep me posted how you make out with them Gary - cheersStewart

Maxxis Bravo AT 771 - 265/65/18
Evening all.
Had them fitted today and they fill out the arches well. The drive home from the garage was interesting as they had fiddled with the terrain settings and the old girl had a hissy fit and the suspension dropped to the stops for some reason which highlighted a possible issue, they rubbed ever so slightly but once I put the terrain knob back to road use, she came back up with no issues, no rubbing at all and drove really nicely, a much smoother ride than the GGAT's on 20''s.
I will have to fiddle with pressures over the coming weeks but for £108 a corner, fitted, they are a bargain and have the tread pattern that I was looking for, for winter driving and the 20's with GGAT's can be my summer tires.
They have white signing on one side but I decided to have the laces in rather than out but the guys said I could go back and have them turned for a tenner a corner if I wanted to show off the lettering.
I'll post a picture tomorrow

I'm considering these for my D3, how have you found them?
I've always been on Wranglers but they are getting towards replacement time. Curious to know how the Maxxis wear and will compare.

HI Lee
Only been on a few k miles but negligable wear. Grip in wet is better than The GGAT's that I have on my 20's so very happy and ride much better, quieter too. Great value for money

Fantastic tire, sure footed and well worth the money.
I honestly can't fault them at all.

Hello again
I commented a couple of months ago about these tyres, I'm wanting to change mine in the next couple of weeks before a trip up to Scotland.
I've always had Wranglers on mine partly tempted to stick with what I know, interested in the Maxxis seem to get good reviews and be good value for money. Compared to my Wranglers can I expect more noise and less fuel consumption?

Hi Lee.
Probably quieter than Wranglers and every bit as good and I am a Wrangler fan having had 2 sets on my old D2. I'd reckon they would be better over slippery terrain too. Very grippy tire.
Can't recommend them enough, especially if funds are a little tight. budget price but quality tire.
You won't regret buying them. I have now had them on all winter and not a single slip whereas the GGAT's I have as summer tires were not as confidence inspiring as they occasionally slipped over wet white lines on the road, let alone wet grass.
