looking to put a phone charger in my cubby box

Hi there all

i have searched the forum but only found close

i would like to put my phone on charge and drop it in to the center cubby box without any dangly wiring.

can i make a hole in the box and attach the lead through to some where

(there is a cig lighter just behind it if thats where i could get the power)

i would send a special gift to someone for detailed info of how to complete this task

Thumbs Up

or am i too stoopid to do this myself?

Had mine in bits tonight Thumbs Up

The cubby liner comes out easy, details in this topic based on fridge fitment

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic89619.html

With the liner out you'll see the power feed to the ciggy lighter, you can tap into it and fit another for your charger or possibly wire it in dependant on your charger

You could easily drill a hole in the liner, but I think you could trim some of the liner back at the back and bring the wire up under the hinge part the lid Thumbs Up

Should be easy enough to drill a small hole through for wires.

Follow the instructions for fitting the fridge will help Thumbs Up

You shouldn't have a problem in doing it. Thumbs Up

Plenty space under there to fit a 12v to USB socket. I have fitted a few different styles / amperages on a few cars and all have worked fine. The USB socket is a ubiquitous source of power and it is nice to charge things whilst keeping them tidied away. On my D3 have one in the centre cubby, one under the aux flap for row 2 and one in the top glovebox.
