HELP I am looking to buy a disco3 and have found a 05 model, manual, SE but with HSE spec, 82200 miles has had cambelts done at age limit rather than miles, full service history, dealer but he wants 14990 for it . Is that a bit steep and he wont budge on price
Your valued opinions please

If it's overbudget and they won't budge then look elsewhere, there are plenty of cars for sale 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

35 manual D3 SE on Autotrader at time of typing:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/ca...rt/default
Depends what your definition of "SE with HSE spec" is and whether you are after an SE or HSE 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

TBH there is not a massive difference between early SE and HSE spec (if I remember, 19" wheels, sunroofs (that can leak) and an improved sat nav) - and the SE was standard spec as manual.
I had an 05 SE, full leather, electric seats, difficult to tell differnce from bro in law HSE, I paid extra for the larger wheels, Auto, Sat Nav enhancement - waste of money - never used it and Privacy - kept it for 5 years and loved it
Chopped it in 3 years ago and got similar to what your are being asked
That price is way to high, I'd look around

I'd say its priced a bit high, but if it has what you want then go for it.
The SE/HSE were quite similar at that age. The HSE has the glass roof, and I think it has the LOGIC 7 Harmon & Kardon sound system which is well worth it. To check for LOGIC 7, look for the badges on the tweeter speakers in front of the electric window switches. If it has the LOGIC 7 upgrade then it might explain why he won't budge.
As Adam says, the extra features in the nav are only of interest if you want to drive across the Sahara.

Pricing goes on model variant, regardless of the spec fitted it is still a SE, but looks like it has been priced as HSE.
Danger is you will loose a lot when selling as it will only be valued as an SE regardless of all the extras fitted. D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
D4 HSE MY12 Marmais Teal: Gone. Missed a lot!
Freelander 2 SD HSE MY11 Silver:Thankfully gone.

TBH I like the sat nav but have a tom tom so could do without it, I like the heated seats, but could do without the leather, I need privacy glass for the dogs, like the multifunsction steering wheel and want parking sensors front and rear and heated screens front and rear..
I like the 3 sunroofs but as only the front one opens its not much help with keeping the dogs cool anyway...oh decisions decisions...I think it is overpriced and yes it does have the sound system mentioned..
Thanks for your help and links to a couple of others to look at...

mines 05 SE manual with 81K miles and belts done but i would doubt it would realise more than £12 K tops
from what ive seen them going for .
no way im selling mine tho i absolutely love it
but i know how you must feel once youve seen one thats just how you want it you can get obsessive it can be love at first site with these cars.
you need to play it cool with the dealer make him your best offer ( well almost ) then tell him your looking at a few others and leave your number ,you never know your luck he may laugh but if it dosent move your offer make look ok for stock turnover
but as others have said theres plenty out there MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

You can get window tints to whatever shade you want for £150 so don't worry too much about the need for privacy glass. The leather seats are much easier to keep clean long terms compared to cloth seats with can get stained and can fade in the sun (the front seats anyway). Tomtom is much cheaper and easier to keep updated that fitted satnav. The sunroof won't contribute much, if anything, to keeping to dogs cool - better to have a cage and leave the back door open. For me the heated front screen is a must - really missed it when I went fron RR to a landcruiser.

As said before the 'early' SE's were quite well specd - LR started moving things to the options list on later years.
I could'nt afrord the HSE when I ordered mine in 2004 (where has that near 9 years gone ), but was never disapointed with the SE, leather, heated everything (apart from steering wheel), decent enough stereo / 6 CD changer (only ever listened to R5 and DAB not an option then), front and rear sensors, Xenons - all standard
Coming from a MB C Class with no extras and a dash that looked like Noah had designed it, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven
