The D3/LR3 air compressor is mounted under the truck. Considering I takes my truck off-roading often which involves wading, mudding and rock crawling, I have "worn out" two compressors within 2 yrs. Has anyone tried to reloate the compress to other area of the truck? I am tired of replacing the compressor, its about a 4+ hrs work for me (I have very large and heavy rock slider on the truck.) Thanks..

If you have to replace compressors it is not likely to be due to off road work. Usually the bracket gets busted in that case.
The extra use of the air supension is the likely cause of the compressor failure or you could have got away with drying the beads in the dryer.
You can get compressor protection plates and next compressor you will get the AMK one.

Allow me clarify. My compressor fail not because of impact. It fails because it "over work" as the dealer put it. Do think I am getting the latest AMK compressor on this repair (truck still in shop) and let see if the rock slider can go back on ok.

I don't see how relocating the air compressor will cause it to work less. You need a better compressor. Maybe the AMK one is more durable under punishment. Dennis

Relocate the compressor. Like inside the truck. May make it easier for me to replace the compressor. For reference (to those dont know the size of my rock slider) ust think about how much time needed to remove and install the Tactical Rover rock slider every time you replace the compressor..

You could probably extend the power, control and air lines in order to put it in the boot where the towbar is stored, but you'd need to make up some kind of bracket I guess and work out how to get the extended cables and hoses in there.
Or could it be moved to the other side of the chassis rail? I can't remember what is there now.
I think on the L322 the compressor is in the boot. 2014 D4 XS

Right side of chassis is just one giant empty space and not a good solution either due to rock slider already there. I looked into the spare tire space. Being in the US we don't have much "reasonable cost option" getting rear tire carrier for the spare. Dealer think I could place the compressor in space where rear AC system located. But you can guess, I have rear AC on my truck.

What about in the spare battery tray under the bonnet? If you have one like we do on the RHD vehicles. 2014 D4 XS

It will be very noisy anywhere inside the cab. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

If you dont have rear aircon.. perhaps fit it where that unit suppose to be.. on mine I have a big empty space there. no aircon rear. all i can see is the compressor inlett silencer.
