I don't know the reason for this but I think you can have the CCF edited to tell the ECU it has Xenons rather than Halogen lights. I understand this may prevent the flickering?

Flicker is only if the car originally had halogens, makes a softer start up for the halogen bulbs so they don't fail too often. It's nothing to worry about and you don't even notice it unless you look for it. Thumbs Up

I got a left and right adaptive bixenon off Ebay (separate auctions). £92 for one and £160 for other other. My car kept blowing dipped and side light bulbs in the halogens but when I fitted the bixenons there was no flickering. I suspect, as people told me when I mentioned bulb blowing, that car might have had bixenons on before and been enabled for them.

Dead easy mod. Much brighter especially the way it lights up road side signs etc in the distance. I suspect left hand headlamp needs moving down a bit but I've had no one flash me in around a months use.

Not had corning lights enabled yet and don't plan to put mod in the car for the adaptive part.

numpty, easiest way to align the adaptives is to put them on someone elses car (who has adaptives) then once it's done its proper dance, take them off and put them back on yours! Thumbs Up

The reason Halogens Blow when Xenons are enabled but not fitted, is to do with the power start up regime.

For Xenons, it needs a rush of power to get the xenon ballasts up to full power which the halogens can't take for too long

The reason Xenons get a 'flicker' when set as halogens is the halogen start up regime consists of a pulsed power increase to extend the life of the halogen bulb.

Interesting enough, I had a car the other day that had xenons fitted, (although car was set to Halogen), but did not flicker on startup.

Then after all the software updates, it then had the startup flicker. Once enabled as Xenon, was all OK of course.
So earlier software probably doesnt have the power regime set, but later software does. Its a theory anyway..... Thumbs Up

So.. the adaptive/cornering system AFS type ones are different to other Xenons so in headlamp choices we have:

Halogen -> Xenon -> Adaptive Xenon correct?

Do they all have cornering lights as well or is this another add on feature?

Yes, thats right

some have cornering lights, usually the adaptives have them, but bizarely (as is LR!) some don't.

Easy enough to add on and enable though Thumbs Up
