hello everybody, this is my first post so please be gentle!!
basically i am new to land rovers and want to learn as much as possible before i commit to buying, basically i own a twin axel caravan and my estate pulls it fine but now i have another child on the way which means more equipment and i know my current car will be touch and go on the weight!! so its time to invest in a real tow car!!
i have been looking at the disco 3 for sale at around the £13000 - £14000 mark and most range in mileage around the 100,000 mark sometimes a little less, this i am not used to as i have been able to buy new or nearly new in the past.
guys help me out is this mileage something to worry about if it has full history? will i have big future maintenance bills? how much for cambelt changes etc?
who is the best independent land rover specialist in or near to wolverhampton?
thanks everybody in advance for your advice im all ears!! i really want to become a fellow owner but want to do my research first .
kind regards

The big service is at 105k or 7 years, so make sure that is already done, as it includes timing belts and costs a fair bit more when compared to normal service.
Apart from that, nothing to fear, except usual fail points which are highlighted on this forum.

Buy a decent tool kit, you will need it!
As said, 105k/7yr service can bring fairly big bills, so can be a good selling/haggling point.

PERMA(ment)GRIN
It's a strange facial expression that is often seen on the faces of all Landrover owners, probably induced by the fact that the cars are superb in every (almost) respect Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k
previous vehicles:
04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)
52 X-Trail 2.2 SVE
various euro boxes !

As previously stated permagrin is a visual endorsement of Landrover Ownership.
I've experienced this phenomenon not only in our plush D3 but also when driving our Defender TD5
The Permagrin can occasionaly be subject to slight temporary fade in Petrol Stations but will quicky return to full glory on returning to the highways and byways.
Our canine companions will also sport cheesy grins as they hurtle though the countryside encased in Landrover heaven towards their next adventure.
Would I recommend a D3 HELL YES
I've been well impressed with it, great to drive loads of space very comfotable, like driving down the motorway in your armchair, one or two minor niggles but it's a Landrover you've just got to love it

I could not agree more. I have a brand new Vauxhall Antara (I know, I know) and for the last three weeks it has been sat in my court yard and has only done 150 miles because we all love my wife's disco 3 so much! It is so comfortable and capable. You are high up so have greater awareness of the road and in an auto it's heaven, like being in an armchair wafting along the road safely in the knowledge that everyone who sees you thinks you're a rich git! A stunning vehicle everyone should own one. You guys are gonna be busier than a test bench in a plunger factory!

welcome
Buy the newest you can afford and make sure it has full service history. Keep an eye on here as there is often good cars on here that you will be able to see all about, many have been off road in some form or another but that is not a bad thing.
You will love it when you get it and once hooked will not go back, we moved from a Galaxy to toe our caravan to a D3, now have ne D4 and a new twin axle caravan. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
