Going here this ummer with the tintent dble axle.
What is the best way to approach site?
I'm coming from the North Inverness.
Is it M25, M4 then A205 or M25, M23, A23 then A205?
Planning on doing it Saturday, stopping, then final stage Sunday morning July.
Help any suggestions welcome. I'm to old to know everything......
D4 Gone over to the Dark Side (D5)
D3 gone ...... But now want one for knocking about! Is this a form of insanity?

i wanted to go there last summer but was informed that they didnt except twin axle caravans so couldnt go 
Have you booked it ?

It quotes max 8.5m on their site as I am looking to go next year but they probably don't have many large pitches. Also a member of avforums.com

I booked thro club site from 7/7/13 to 21/7/13 and had no problem they quote 8.5m as max length so ok there. Will be interesting when we turn up, the mover may well prove its worth again. Booked to arrive and depart on a Sunday hoping that the traffic may be lighter! I'm to old to know everything......

We've just booked for this coming half term...feb...caravan club details have us down with twin axle, booking accepted.....hmmm we shall see. No mention of any issue with larger vans!

I'm hoping to go in my fifth wheel which is 8.5m long and 3.3m wide next year. Also a member of avforums.com

I've towed into Crystal Palace a few times in years gone by from the West and have done both the South Circular from the end of the M4 at Chiswick and also gone up to Hammersmith and skirted the edge of the congestion zone down to Battersea Bridge and across.
My strong advice to you though would be don;t go there and use an alternative Caravan Club site to the north or west of London instead. You've got Commons Wood in Welwyn Garden City and can get a train from either Welwyn or Hatfield into London Kings Cross. Also you've got Wyatts Covert with trains from Denham into Marleybone. These are far easier ways to get into Central London than going from Crystal Palace because there's no tube nearby and the buses took ages. We're going to stick with these sites in future and not bother with Crystal Palace.

You could always use Abbey Wood - which is in the Royal Borough of Greenwich London SE2 and just a twenty minute drive from the Dartford Crossing - an excellent site with no size restrictions at all and the train station is five minutes walk from gate where you can get to central London (Charing Cross or Cannon Street) in about 35 minutes or bus from top of road to places like Greenwich and Woolwich for the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) or the Thames Clipper river bus service a fantastic way to travel into London.
Whilst the site is within Greater London its setting is within a protected woodland area with some very good walks and there are the ruins of the old Lesnes Abbey which itself has a great history BUT there are shops within a few minutes walk from the gate.
I love the site and for years we stored our caravan there and we still live in the area so can always off advice and tips! LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

We stayed at Wyatts Covert last time. Great location for all the theme parks (Merlin Pass) and Windsor castle etc. we parked at Denham and got the train to London which included the tube so was very easy, especially with the tube app which tells you where to get off.
We only went in to London 3 times to see the sights in 10 days as we wanted to do the theme parks (Chessington,, Thorpe park, Legoland)
My advice would be to get a Merlin Pass if you have kids, unlimited entrance to above them parks, Tussauds, London eye, sea life, dungeons, Alton towers, Warwick castle, Alton towers & 20% off food etc. a family pass is around £75/each which is a bargain. Also a member of avforums.com

I have stayed at both C'Palace & Denham.
Denham gets my vote every time even with the early morning flights from next door  Member of the carrot crank club
