Had to replace the glass on my wing mirror today as it got whacked by a transit....
Question for the techies....The two wires, presumably for the heating element, does it matter which way round they go on?

No - I don't think it matters unless there is a diode built into the element which would obviously stop the flow of electrons if connected incorrectly.

I had a similar experience with a transit!
It doesn't matter which way you connect the wires but a tip for fitting the glass... Clip the top hooks on the back of the mirror glass over the motorised unit and then press the bottom of the mirror glass until it clicks into place. Best of luck.

are the mirrors actually heated ?.
I have never seen mine heat ..and there are no elements on the glass.
I have the cold climate pack , but that does not include heated wing mirrors!!
Does any body have heated wing mirrors ..and if so what model have you got. G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

opps..just looked at the manual ..
"The door mirrors have integral heating elements which disperse ice or mist from the glass.These will operate automatically with the starter in position II and are controlled according to the external temperature and wiper status."
So what state does the wipers have to been in ??? G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
