terrible for names but think he did a lot of swimming around the poole area in his time Wink a few good tales as he was in Aden in the early 60s at the same time as my dad

oh yes and a lot of good instruction on the driving as well

funniest bit was swmbo doing the steep descent white knuckles showing on both hands and repeating out loud "dont brake dont brake dont brake" Laughing

I did the full day LRE about a year ago. The wife did her full day this past Monday and thoroughly enjoyed it, while i went to Devon 4X4 to buy a few goodies. We're going to do the trek day next year. I had Scott and the wife had Dave as an instructor.

Cheers
John

Did 1/2 day last week, with instructor Steve who was ex mil. I too will be up for one of their trek days in the spring. Maybe we should try and get a forum trip organised??

I did the half day there a little while back and thoroughly enjoyed it. My instructor was ex military though I can't remember his name.

Funny thing was when being told who the instructor was a comment was made about his accent and they hoped I could understand him. Here's me thinking he must be proper West Country anyway, he introduces himself and starts showing me round the car. I'm thinking I can unsterstand him fine, turns out he originally lived about a mile from me up in Sunderland but we've both ended up down this neck of the woods.

Got 2 half day vouchers to use at Skipton soon, taking the old man along.

Bought a voucher off the forum here and will hopefully be doing the half-day at the Awliscombe centre in late Feb/early March with my dad. Looking forward to it! How far in advance do you need to book? I have to be quite picky about dates as I'll taking the ferry over from NL on my way to visit my folks and pick up all my D3 ebay purchases! (They live 10 miles from Honiton.)

Glad the feedback is good!
