Hey Guys,

I have recently bought a 2008 Land Rover Discovery 3 with 60,000 miles on the clock. Now it is flashing that it is due a service!!!
I have phoned on main dealer land rover and they want £ 570 for a fourth service! Shocked
I have phoned a Land Rover speciailist garage nearby to myself who only mend land rovers and they want £ 275 for a "yearly" service.

My car has has full main dealer land rover service history from new. Is it worth keeping the book with main dealer history or will it not make that much difference come the time i wish to sell it?
Also will there be any difference from a main dealer "fourth service" and a private workshop "yearly" service?

Any help or information would be appriciated.

well I would suggest that besides the usual service it would wise to consider changing the timing belts and water pump if not done.

Bit early for that isn't it?

That's the 7 year, 105.000 miles service, belts and pump.

This car is only 4 years old with 60.000 miles.

At 60.000 it's a standard "B" Service.

For the 60k service which includes new oil and filter, pollen, air and fuel filters we normally charge this at £275+ VAT anyone quoting the forum will get this for £250 + VAT. It wouldn't be necessary to replace belts at this time in accordance with LR spec but it would be entirely your decision. If you would like a itemised service schedule from LR specifically for your vehicle, pm me your reg no and email and I will get it to you.
