| EGR Blanking and Engine Mapping |

According to my local stealer, my ECG valve has failed on my 55 plate Disco 3 (2.7 Auto Diesel).
They are quoting me 7 hours labour and over £400 for new valves/gaskets...!
A mechanic friend of mine has advised me to blank it off as it is not needed and shown me a kit on eBay you can buy to do this. Had anyone done this? Any can anyone recommend someone reliable who can do this along with Engine Mapping in the Bristol/Somerset region?

Yes blank it. Have a search, loads on here, the BAS kit s much better than the ebay ones.

We blank them off and use a company that do an EGR delete that fools the vehicle into thinking they are still there. It would be a bit of a trek for you to Leeds but I'm sure they will be someone local to yourself. The good thing about the earlier types is the fact that the blanks can be done and the reprogramming side is more an optional extra and we like to give our customers the choice. The company we use also remap it at the same time for free. I've done this mod to mine with no problems. On a run the MPG shot up.

I have a 57 plate and was thinking of replacing for a d4 but av changed my mind does anybody now how bas is getting on with the patch as allthough I have changed my egr valves would like to get rid and get remaped many thanks steve

Yes blank 'em off 
Did my 'old' 55 plate D3.
Easy DIY job if you follow the BAS instructions  Cheers, Dave in Essex

Clubs - Turbo changed, EGR valves replaced, General Grabber ATs, Hawkeye FC reader, Front/rear wishbones, manual gearbox change, autobox flush, cam belt change, HPFP belt change, oil pump change....

Still want to blank my 07 EGR valves... Has any progress been made with doing this and the car not throwing a wobbly?

blanked mine of a year ago, best thing i ever did no worries of egr s sticking now!! and so easy to do,also had remap far better on fuel and performance, go for it you wont ever regret it i promise
