My fuel tank senders failed so the display was reading a permanently empty tank.
Took it to the dealers who sorted it (Tues & Weds) by removing the tank and fitting new senders. On the way home, Mrs D noticed a rattle from the underside of the front of the car. Called the dealer (Friday) who suggested that one of the undertrays hadn't been fixed back o properly when they were doing the work. Asked to bring it in on Monday and they'd screw everything together properly while I waited
Got home Friday eve and noticed a whining/whizzy sort of noise as well. Over the weekend the noise got worse and the steering became heavy
Took it in this morning - no hydraulic fluid for the power steering - two O rings needed and perhaps a new power steering pump. "Sorry, your warranty expired on Friday that'll be £177 for the O rings and we'll let you know about the pump later today"
It all seems a bit too coincidental to me..... Question is, does anyone know whether when they removed the the fuel tank they could have damaged the power steering at all?
Or is it just coincidence? 14 Disco 4 HSE
