Windows phone and bluetooth |
|
Hi all
I have read the various topics on iphone and bluetooth but I have a different issue. I have a Nokia Lumia which has started to lose bluetooth connection after a couple of minuted driving, the vehicle is a MY12 HSE; another problem was that my touchscreen went black - radio function still worked so the dealer reset the software and the screen now works again but still with the intermittent bluetooth problem.
Has anyone else had similar problems and if so what was the cure?
Regards
John

Hey John,
Admittedly, this is not much help, but I have a Lumia connected to MY10 D4 and never have any problems. I guess you have made sure that the phone is up to date with updates?
Have you tried connecting to another bluetooth device for longer than 10 mins? Does it stay connected?
Hope you get it sorted. Bri

Hi Clubber
Thanks for the reply, my Nokia has been fine until recently and the phone software is the latest update; I have tried the usual switch off/on etc. I am going to try another bluetooth device shortly.

Hi, my HTC Windows Mozart has worked flawlessly for 18months, switched to a Lumia recently and no probs, mine is an MY10 car however.
Not sure that helps?

Further update:
An alternative bluetooth device seemed stable for a couple of hours and my Nokia Lumia also seemed stable when connected with a USB cable although I believe the connection is for charging only.
The bad news is that when I started the car this morning I have the return of the non working touch screen!
Just waiting for a call back from the dealer.

Progress:
I have just been telephoned by the supplying dealer to say that my car is subject to a factory recall for touch screen/ventilation timer faults, hopefully this will also cure the other issues.

Well I now have an operational touch screen after the recall along with updated software, apparently a number of cars would not allow the screen to reboot if the engine was started before the timed heat/vent cycle was finished, I will see in the morning if we have the cure.
Still have the bluetooth issues though!

John,
You aren't by any chance on Orange or T-Mobile are you? Mine did the same when they switched to EE recently, I ended up having to factory reset the phone, and hey presto it works, it must be something to do with the pairing info is tied somehow to the carrier name. I wondered if it was easier to reset the car (disconnect battery and hold cables together) but decided it was easier to do phone and it fixed it.
Cheers
Alastair

Hi Alastair
I am on O2 but one thing I have found is that if I connect the phone with the USB charge cable I have no problem which is really strange because when the phone is charging like this the phone connection still uses bluetooth - very strange and waiting for LR feedback on the matter.
At least the black screen issue has now been cured.
Regards
John
