Mark,
It cost $1980 for 3 years or 60,000Km extended warranty (total now 6 years or 160,000Km). This is factory warranty, return to dealer to fix any faults with vehicle at no cost excluding negligence and normal wear and tear.
My dealer (Dubbo) normally uses Ford finance but they would not do extended warranty as the vehicle is 3.1Tonnes GVM (whatever difference that makes!!!) so they went through Alliance (I think). regards
Peter

Congratulations Peter.
When I bought my D3, 21 months ago LRA didn't have any extended warranty.
I'll certainly look into this as it will be a good insurance policy especially if covers most things and is a factory warranty.
Good luck with the new truck.

What's with the Luxury Car Tax..? Is that applied to cars over a certain value, or is Luxury defined in a specific way..?
...just curious (in case our government get any ideas..!

it kicks in at around the fringe benefit tax level for vehicles here for employer supplied benefits around $55,000.00 AUD or there abouts from memory, it adjusted every year for inflation and other reasons in the budget.
It applies to all types of vehicle by value.
it also applies to extras purchased, and it is better not to get extras, eg load space covers, roof racks, window tinting etc at time of purchase, but latter on obtain them when you collect the vehicle as you do not have to pay the tax

and would you believe that it is charged at a rate of 25% on all amounts over $55k!!!! Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

I got the same warranty. Basically, whatever the manufacturer's warranty covers, so does this. Additionally, there is provision for towing costs, fares and accommodation if incurred as part of the breakdown. I figured that only two grand, plus the fact that I'll probably keep the car for six years, made it a bargain. D4: Expedition Rack, 104 Litre Long Range Tank, Raised Air Intake
D3: Every bloomin' thing but the kitchen sink
