Unprotected cable connector

Had my spare wheel out today to fit one of RLD's protectors Thumbs Up . I noticed the attached.

This connector is mounted on top of the D4's chassis (n/s) just in front of the spare wheel recess. It seems curiously exposed! Can anyone confirm that this is normal?

Thanks

Yeah Normal as Dunc says. When I fitted my RLD protector I smeared a load of Vaseline around the exposed wiring hopefully that will keep the Censored out Thumbs Up

Hi UffBlock and it is not really a problem having exposed connectors but if you want to give them some protection, get your hands on some lanolin spray ( sheep oil ).

Lanolin spray works like WD40, as a lubricant but it also leaves a coating on what ever surface it is sprayed on and will also stop rust occurring.

It’s great stuff to clean and protect your battery terminals as the stuff dries in about 3 days so it doesn't attract dirt to it.

If you have a lawn mower outlet near you, they will normally carry some and the best I have come across is put out by Briggs and Stratton.
