I think the nav disk may contain some kind of boot loader and a very old one may not work that far back...I updated my LR nav disk for about $50 from a forum member - yes it was a genuine one too

Geoff, I am in Worcester Park, happy to travel if I can find someone with a recent disc to do a quick test. Went past LR again this morning and they had no new discs to test with.

Seem to be striking out on getting a disc to test this problem with, anyone have any downloads or recent versions they arent using that I could pick up? Happy to pay for it, just not happy to pay LR the £200 for a new original considering I dont know if this is going to fix the problem. Thanks for all the advice earlier in the thread, all very useful!
