'Canadian' light setting.

I have trawled through many threads about the Canadian light setting, and as we are now well and truly into the grim winter gloom, fancy having this enabled on my D3. So a couple of quick questions.

1. Can they be activated on a UK supplied D3?
2. If so, can it be activated on an 08 GS?
3. What is involved in the activation (Faultmate)?
4 Any drawbacks encountered by users?

Cheers.

Thats one of the things I like about this forum. The definitive answer, in simple terms (I need it that way) in 7 minutes.

Thanks Geoff.

Thumbs Up

There is two things i dont like about Canadian setting.
1. Lights will turn on at nighttime in all lightswitch positions.
2. Lights will turn on at nighttime when parkbrake is on, and with gearshifter in Park.

1. In europe this is a problem when using foglights, as they are not legal used together with low-beam.
2. At freezing cold mornings when car is warming up outside, we will need extra battery power. I miss the possibility to turn off lights at this time.

Last lightsetting is "North America lightsetting". The only thing i found out this did, was it included parklamps as hazard lamps.

1. This work at daytime. But at nighttime they work more like scandinavian setting..
2. This work fine, and with this setting i can use lightswich, and set it park/side-light at nighttime and use foglights alone (no low-beam).

my poor english.... Sad
You said there was something wrong with my settings...
Therefor i was wondering if your car acted different in this canadian settings.

Dipped beams are on in all lightswitch position at nighttime, also when gearselector set in park.

Would really like canadian setting if it could work same way as it does at daytime
