D4 12my infotainment
Does anyone have a copy of the D4 2012 MY infotainment wiring diagram they can send me?
Just looking at the possibility of installing my OEM RSE (from the D3) in my new D4 (when it arrives).
Don't know if I will be able to configure the rear seat in door wired controls/headphones.
Any help is appreciated

Thanks Geoff,
Adrian is a busy guy - I have already mentioned it to him
Just wanted to look at the diagram to try and work it out myself.

The "Man" is clearly a little busy right now, so i hope you don't mind if i humbly offer what little knowledge i might possibly have to you Andrew
the D4 infotainment really only changed from the D3 in respect of the screen module being a higher res unit with different displays and having a Built in HDD for Maps with USB update connectivity rather than a separate DVD based Nav Computer.
The D3 had the six disk changer, IHU and user Control panel as an all in one unit, and for the D4 the controls were provided seperately, with a six disk changer and IHU being left as a single combined unit, but otherwise all Most Bus stuff was the just same.
In 2012, the screen has been replaced with a new unit which no longer houses the Nav capability and is pretty much just a dumb display screen.
Now there is a new IAM central control unit that replaces the origional IHU and this unit also replaces the NAV capabilty, having its own HDD and the TMC and Bluetooth phone caapability
However as far as i know, things like the RSE are still implimented over the Most Bus, just the same as they origionally were in the D3. So you should be good to go

Hi Lee,
Thanks for your response, I've looked at the diagram in your gallery - it seems to be the same as one I already have.
I think the MY12 are different (the RSE audio is transmitted by IR to the headphones, there aren't any rear seat audio controls).
Thanks
Andrew

Hi Colin
Thanks for your response - do you think the rear seat audio controls(wired) will work if I replace the door looms for D3 HSE ones, and attach the relevant door controls, or will I have to try to 'upgrade' to the current wireless setup.
I feel certain I can get the hardware fitted, connected to the MOST ring and powered up - as before, and of course, thanks to BBS, I can use my trusty Faultmate to make the changes in the CCF. I am just not sure how to get the audio out to the headphones.
Any help/advice is appreciated.

Hiya Andrew
As i did not fit RSE as part of my D3 infotainment upgrade, i am a bit sketchy on the detail regarding the Rear door mounted and further rearward mounted Headphone socket panels, but on re checking the wiring diagram, it seems like you just need to entirely connect them to the Amplifier, which then takes care of both sound and control aspects.
I have fiited RSE to my 2003 Range Rover as part of a complete infotainment update, but in this there is only the second row requirement which is all IR based and done via an overhead IR unit and a remote control.

Hi Colin,
Thats just about where I came to - just route the connections from the door pillar back to the amplifier - thanks for your confirmation.
Does anyone know if the 2012 cars use the same amplifiers as before HK & HK logic 7. Also are the amps still located under the drivers seat?
Can't wait to rip my new car apart when it arrives on 1st October - lots of mods to do

Thanks for the Pictures CaverD3
That amp actually looks quite a bit different and has no Dolby Licensing text on it so is not Logic 7,
Not sure About the Gen2.1 DG mentions, (please point me as to where you learned of this please chap) I have an IAM, Dual view screen and 2012 wiring for future developing but as yet have not looked into anything over much.
Your mystery box is the KVE module (Keyless Vehicle Entry) CaverD3.
Stupid place to put it, but then it is a Land Rover

This is from the 2012MY brief published prior to production
Quote:
3.6.2 High and Premium ICE (new Gen 2.1 MOST architecture)
• New GEN 2.1 electrical architecture provides enhancements to the High and Premium audio and infotainment systems.
• High ICE is increased from 9 speakers and 240W to 11 speakers and 380W.
• Premium LOGIC 7 ICE is increased from 14 speakers and 480W to 17 speakers and 825W.
• Both systems are available independently of the HDD Navigation System.
• Both feature A Single slot CD player with MP3 capability.
• Full control of the audio system features via the revised touchscreen.
• When the vehicle is equipped with either of the HDD Navigation Systems, additional ICE capability is enabled as follows:
• Compatibility with DVD Audio and MP3 DVD playback. DVD Audio discs provide higher resolution and performance over CD.
• Virtual CD Auto Changer function which allows for up to 10 CDs to be downloaded to the hard-disc drive in an uncompressed, lossless format. The hard-disc is equipped with Gracenotes so that CD’s and tracks can be identified and stored.
• Portable Audio Connectivity allows streaming and control of audio files from iPod and USB. Apple iPod connectivity is achieved using the standard iPod USB lead which plugs directly into one of the two USB ports located beneath the centre console lid.
