Help! Electrical Problem?
Help???
Picked the D3 up from LR yesterday all hunky dorey so prob not related but cant stop the car waking up this afternnon with hazards flashing and alarm going off and central locking opening and closing. It seems like it is really waking up as the sat nav coming on and all really strange that I should pick up a wiring fault whn it has always been fine? tried starting and restarting but no joy though it seems to of stopped setting the alarm off when the bonnet is open but thats abit intermittent as well?
Any idea's?

Thanks Nick
Much appreciated pal. I take it they just give in all of a sudden like that? I have had the bonnett alarm sensor replaced 3 times in the past but it never used to wake the sat nav up and mess around with the central locking?

Anyone know if there is a temporary way around this maybe shorting the bonnet switch out or disconnecting it? Just to confirm this and also so I dont need to keep disconnecting the battery until I pick one up? Its abit strange as it keeps opening the closing the central locking so if this failed say on a carpark it would open the car for all to steal what they like?

Dead easy to bypass the bonnet alarm, you just need to unplug the connector from it, (might be easier to remove the switch first,) then take a paperclip and cut it so that you just have a "U" and shove it into the plug.
TBH though, if the alarm is going off and the doors locking and unlocking, that sounds very much like the fault I had on mine when water got into the transmission ecu connector behind the battery.Clive

Thanks crwoody
I had LR doing all the transmission oils yesterday but dont think they would have cause to do anything behind the battery as far as I,m aware but will try and have a look tomorrow if the rain holds off.

Cheers again crwoody
Just looked at this post sounds very familiar since I got LR to carry out afull valet just before I picked the car up yesterday. Too dark now so will just have to disconnect battery tonite when I get home and have a look tomorrow hopefully if it is dry outside.
