Floppy gearstick?
Wife has just rung - "I went to change gear and the gear stick is floppy/floating around and wont do anything?"
I told her to call LR Assist, however has anyone experienced this one before? Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"

I'd cancel your wife's gym membership, she clearly has been overdoing the weights!

Same problem now with ours, there's no tension around the neutral position I.e. the stick flops between 3/4 and 5/6. Did you sort this problem out?-------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep - available as a repair kit from LR, but stocks are low - £7 ish.
You can get it back together from underneath and get someone to get it back into gear fro the drivers seat while you hold it together underneath - RAC man couldn't reach it for me at the roadside, but I managed it on the driveway once I got it home
Took me 6 hours to fix it !!!! Send me a PM and I'll point you in the direction of a fix

As it happened, about 2 weeks after the stick went floppy it self resolved and returned to normal. TFC had a look at it and lubed it up but we've had no recurrence.-------------------------------------------------------------------

Floppy Gearstick
I too have this problem in my 2005 D3 manual - i.e. gearstick flops between 3/4 and 5/6. Took car in to a landy specialist in Hants, but they said they couldn't fix it. Can you provide a bit more information on the fix?
Thanks
