D4 Air suspension compressor TSB |
|
Just seen a TSB on the system TSB Q213v2
it relates to D4 & RRS vehilces 2009 - 2011 which had a failure of the air suspension compressor and then subsequently had a replacement Hitachi compressor fitted as a warranty repair to have these now replaced with an AMK compressor
so basically if you have a D4, your compressor failed and you have had an Hitachi replaced, this will now be replaced with an AMK version
NOT ALL VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED
if you fall into the criteria above contact your dealer with your chassis number and ask them to check the DDW system where if yours is affected they can arrange to have you booked in
This is a small fraction as only 3200 affected worldwide but best get it checked
Quote:
A concern has been identified on a limited number of service replacement air
suspension compressors fitted to 2009-2011MY Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport vehicles.
Affected vehicles may experience reduced or no air suspension functionality, including vehicle on
'bump stops' (significant ride comfort degradation) with instrument cluster based warnings
of limited vehicle performance including recommended reduced maximum driving speed of 30
mph (48 km/h).
It is quite possible that the replacement air suspension compressor, installed as a remedy for the
same conditions as those above, will also fail leading to increased customer dissatisfaction.
This does not affect all vehicles, only those which have previously suffered a failure of the Hitachi
supplied air suspension compressor. The number of affected parts and therefore vehicles is
limited to approximately 3200 world-wide; please check DDW for specific vehicles when making a
service appointment to verify eligibility for this Service Action. TLO has left the building.......

Can I bung a D4 grill on mine & lie about the VIN? My poor compressor is sounding a bit noisy.

Hello,
there is also the LTB00420/2011 which gives information about the affected VINs - even MY2012!
Hitachi compressor from VIN:
Discovery 4/LR4 – AA513326 to BA589534
Range Rover Sport – AA215623 to BA708097
AMK compressor from VIN:
Discovery 4/LR4 – BA589535 to CA603567
Range Rover Sport – BA708098 ro CA725317
Back to Hitachi compressor from VIN:
Discovery 4/LR4 – from CA603568
Range Rover Sport – from CA725318
My LR4 from got without problems and under warranty the new AMK compressor - I only stated, that I had errors from the suspension.
Greetings
