D4 smoking issue blanking plates ??

Hi been reading posts about smoking 3.0's.
Just wandered what the blanking plates are and where they go ??
Just curious .

They blank off the exhaust gas recirculation valves or EGV if you want to abbreviate!

Its a valve/flap that sits in one of the turbo pipes,nothing to do with the EGR valves
 MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
MY15 D4 HSE Kaikoura Stone

MY11 D4 HSE Stornaway Grey Sold and gone

Like Russell says blanks the pipes, but valves cannot recirculate exhaust gasses if the pipes are blanked off Thumbs Up
Didn't think it had anything to do with the turbo though Question

It is not a blank it is a one way valve

Not 100% sure what problem you are relating to but if it's the one in this thread -

Then I think it's some kind of blanking plate and pipe - I'm still waiting for LR to get the bits for it as its a fairly recent mod that's been developed by jaguar as others have said

The repair is to replace the secondary turbo oil drain pipe.The blanking plate is fitted to the engine block where the old drain tube used to return to.

Anyone have a picture or the new 3.0 turbo scavenge pipe? I'm so curious about it and how it tru to resolve the problem of vacuum at the outlet oil port at turbos
