Anybody willing to share his offroad experience with the new GG AT's? What about its performance in muddy terrain or rocky trails?
Thanks in advance!

Indeed, it is quite a testament if you consider rocky tracks, but I did not see any deep mud anywhere. Come on, anybody with a real offroad experience in mud, which is what we can experience most of the time in our rainy Western Europe countries ?
Thanks.

No worries I have to say previous to that we had driven through some very deep sticky mud without any problems, that was caused by the camber of the lane, bad drainage and a very deep ditch! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it Cheers Ian

Spent three days last week testing the 255/55x19 General AT in the valleys and mountains north of Alicante in Spain, we had five almost new D4's supplied by Landrover all shod with the AT.
We covered about five hundred kilometres in all with approx three hundred and fifty off road, mostly rock but in the valleys found lots of very muddy wet parts as the rain was amazing as you may have seen in the news.
We had a mix of novice and pro drivers which worked quite well as the pro's could show the novice drivers the right way to tackle some of the very technical rock tracks and very muddy gullies, we all travelled in convoy on and off road with no problem.
As most understand the D4 is a very special vehicle with fantastic ability off road with all it's electronic aid's and can make a novice driver look very good when guided by a pro.
I very much like the General AT as most on this forum know, it fits the bill and tick's most boxes, it's never going to be best in the mud but as it is an "All Terrain" tyre it copes very well on most surfaces. The road performance in Spain on the super smooth tarmac was a treat with almost no noise at all, the Grabber AT gives Road tyre performance way above most AT pattern tyres , but still works very well in the rough
As with very sharp rocks I was waiting for a problem which did happen when a novice driver took a very tight turn to the right (LHD) and caught the sidewall on a concrete gully, no matter what tyre had been fitted would have sufferd the same fate, trust me.
A well driven D3/4 with almost any tyre would have done 70% of what we did but it's the extra 30% which makes the difference, which I truly think the General AT gives and makes it stand out on it's own.

hi,
i fitted new at's on the disco in july, i've covered nearly 3000 kms with them, no noise on the road, better than the old at2.
During holidays i tested them on the rocky traks of corsica and they were great, with a good pressure no problems at all.
I find them quite good on smooth tracks, not really experienced in mud, but sure it will come, we have some heavy rain here since 2 weeks!
For me they are quite good nearly everywere, it's a very good A/T !
bye
