First oil change

I've nearly done 4000 miles in my D3 now and am thinking about when I should get an oil and filter change done. I have no intention of going to 15000 miles without one but I'm also mindful that the first oil in an engine is a bit like first milk for a baby and that it contains elements to help the engine run in.

Any ideas guys?

I'm going for every 7.5k miles as well. Might just be old fashioned, but I'm not happy with 15k intervals, especially as my D3 seems to hardly use any oil at all.

My service manager here in Canada recommended first oil and filter change at 6 000 km. Ciao.

I did mine at 4,500 miles. Will probably do it at 7,500 miles intervals from now on. Matt
