Looks like the Goodyear is good for snow & ice as well, maybe that's why its an extra £70 but that is a lot extra if your buying 4 or 5 Shocked
Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

The straight answer to that mate is it's "Self Regulated" which means each manufactuer does there own testing.

The big boy's however are giving each others product to test, so lets see how this pans out.

Interesting bit of news is that a certain not so well known company asked the buyers "what" label would you like to have on what tyre.

Going to be fun and can only push prices up. Rolling Eyes

For obvious reasons the tyre‟s load capability must as a minimum match the loads imposed by the vehicle, statically and dynamically. UK law does stipulate replacement tyres must have a Load Index equal to or

it would be interesting to get a view on how they perform head-to-head with the Cooper Discoverer ST. I was really pleased with those tyres on my D3 and need to get a comparison, but unless one has run their D3/D4 on both I guess its impossible to tell. I know you cant get STs in 19inch, but the comparision whould be good to know Confused

Dunc

just done a very quick comparison on duratrac,s and general AT,s

255/55r19 duratrac @ £223 inc x 5 = £1116

255/55r19 general @ £166 inc x 5 = £828

thats £57.60 per tyre difference Shocked the goodyear looks and i believe is/will be a very good tyre if thats what you need but in my experience the AT will handle anything i would want to throw at it and its a couple of tanks of fuel and a few pints cheaper Thumbs Up

ps must add i dont sell tyres anymore so its just my opinion

The market from my point of view regards the Duratrac is not going to be huge, yes I know many on this forum may need it but you don't have to spend fortunes to get a great tyre that will tick the most boxes. Thumbs Up

At the end of the day it comes down to personal choice and how much wonga you have, as I have said the Duratrac looks nice but lets wait till it's been around for a while, O.K. some will say "I have had it since.............." we have only just had these in to stock, so I will make up my mind when they have been tried and tested a little.

One thing for sure it will take a very long time for the Duratrac sales to get anywhere near the General AT, it's just a great tyre.

Makes no difference to me as I make the same percentage out of whatever I sell, just need to sell lots. Thumbs Up

No-one has picked this up yet, but the Duratrac only has an "S" speed rating which is not within LR spec. We've argued about this one before with MT/R's, so just pointing it out! Thumbs Up

Same as current MTRs then.
I certainly wouldn't want to do 112mph on them, so fine for all but the ENT's of this world Whistle

It's the load rating insurers don't like you changing to less.
