CB Advice

Well in prep for some offroad fun im looking at CB's.

Only used ones mind!

Are hand held ones any good for small conveys on greenlanes and so on as i dont really want to go to the faff of a unit and handheld jobby and then the standard whippy on top if i can get away with a small handheld that would work upto a max of .5-1km distance??

Anyone able to advise at all??

Yep - that's what I've done. Picked up a lightly used Intek H520 for half the new price. The Midland ones are good too.

Works fine handheld on batteries, but also has a quick connector for 12V power and a proper antenna which will go on the roof when I get a free weekend to put it all together...

I have a couple of Midland 42 handhelds, they come with loads of accessories eg 2 battery paks and a fag lighter power lead with an external aerial connection. So when in the car it uses an external aerial but if you need to use it outside it takes 10 seconds to slip a battery pack on Thumbs Up
