Amber warning light, engine system, help needed please
Newbie here.
Disco 3 2.7 diesel HSE 09 plate.
I am presently in Sweden and have an orange warning light located on the spedo that does not extinguish after ignition on test and engine run up.
The light is an engine block symbol.
It does not have an exclamation mark in it.
There does not appear to be any info in the LCD message centre to help.
The handbook is not clear what the relevance of the warning is to a diesel engine.
The only other thing to happen in last couple days is several hours driving in torrential rain during which the trailer turn indicator repeater (left turn only) has gradually stopped working. The indicator works ok though. Not sure if this is of any significance.
Any advice gratefully received.
I am driving back to Denmark Monday and Tuesday to catch the Ferry Tuesday pm about a 600 mile drive.
Presently limited internet access and doing this on my phone so may not be able to acknowledge any reply quickly. Hoping to make it to LR dealedealer in Norkopping mid morning Monday.
Thanks.

Sounds like an EGR valve on the way out. Not a panic job, you may lose a bit of mpg and power but nothing will be damaged till the new valve is fitted.

As promised, an update on the outcome of the above fault...
The amber warning light cleared the next morning and the car seemed to drive OK. Main dealer advice was "drive on". Did the 800 miles back to the UK OK and with good fuel consumption, so none the wiser unless there is a fault code in a memory that can be extracted at a later date.

OK thanks Biffysun, I will do that. Am completely new to Disco and LR in general, but really enjoyed the drive to Sweden and back. Couldnt believe how easy and comfortable it was to drive such a big car that distance - especially on amazingly quiet and v.scenic Swedish roads.
