GPS LOCKOUT IN AUSTRALASIA! |
|
Can ANYONE in UK tell me or dealer how to bypass the GPS being locked whilst the car is moving? It is driving me crazy. I live in NZ and seem to have got tied up with US and Aussi beauracracy. I can buy a Garmin and no such hassle. I always have a work colleague as a passenger, who inputs many addresses every day but we have to stop the vehicle all the time... aghh... Help. Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

Hi,
there is no hack to do it yourself or with programming tools until now.
But I have read somewhere here in the forums that in Australia the dealers can enable "Sat on the move" because of customer complains. I have in my mind, that especially in Australia this is due to some kind of law - but don't no exactly anymore.
Greetings

There is a section in CCF on the D4 to enable SNOTM just like the D3 but I am not sure if thats all that is needed on the D4, because on the D3 if you disable it you have to do the whole SNOTM procedure again to enable it, but the D4 is totally different sat nav system... maybe Wiggs knows

Thanks guys... keep the talk going.... I hate having an expensive incar GPS system that is not as versatile as someting I can buy at Dick Smith for 100.00!!!
The Aussi laws are sometimes blamed... e.g. they wont allow remote closing windows. However that law does not apply in NZ and on request my windows have been chaged to remote closing..... soooo why cant GPS on the move be enabled??? Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

Simply: No chance via changing the CCF yourself - the SNOTM parameter does not change it.

Tried several options in the CCF and EUCD with the Faultmate MSV2, read all forums and threads about it, posted a lot of question in different LR forums... What about changing the region to one which allows sat nav on the move? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Have successfully had auto window closing changed by dealer. Australia does not allow auto window closing... (something about cutting off plods head!!!).... however NZ allows auto window closing.. (draw your own conclusions!!!).... SOOOO you would think the GPS issue would be easy enough!!!
Thanks for suggestions... will run them pat the man!!! Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

Yes, global close is a simple thing - only editing the right option in the ccf. Did this also on my NAS LR4. Discovery 4/LR4 HSE 5.0 V8 MY2010 // Volvo XC60 II T8 Inscription Fusion Red MY2020 // Hyundai Kona Electric Trend MY2020 // Bürstner TravelVan 620G MY2020
