Hi all, hoping for a bit of advice here
Been the delighted owner of a brand new D4 for under 2 months now The other day however, the EPB has started to whine when I apply it or take it off
I took it in to the dealers and have been told it will need to come in and get the EPB system stripped down and checked to see what the fault is
Is this normal in a car still so new? I understand that new cars bed in etc but I wasn't expecting this so soon into owning
Any thoughts/advice appreciated

The D3's had masses of issues with EPB but the D4 does not seem to suffer as bad. I believe LR modified the system, but there are still people out there with fairly new D4's suffering similar issues with the EPB. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Thanks Russell, hopefully it's a one off and I've just been unlucky that a problem has developed

Is it a gentle whine or more of a screech?
Epb design is virtually the same, but ISTR tr springs are connected differently on a d4. Bodsys Brake Bible

Hi Bodsy
It's a whine, sounds like a mixture of electronic and mechanical.... sort of like the EPB is either struggling or fighting to go on/off. It only lasts a couple of seconds but it's worse if I've been out driving for a bit and stop and put the park brake on- then it sounds a lot louder
I've had no flashing lights or warnings either, just the whine. Before this happened I had to check for the (P) icon in the display to make sure it was on it was so quiet
Hope the description of the sound makes sense!
