HDC Fault, suspension lowered to access height |
|
Disco 3 (56 plate), TDV6, started intermittently showing HDC fault and lowers susopension while driving. Can re-set by turning engine off and back on, then reset ride height via console switch. Generally fails again shortly thereafter and then goes days without repetition. Any thoughts on cause/cure would be gratefully received.

Brake switch fault. I had the same problem with mine and took it into landrover for dianosis and switch was replaced.

yes, I had the same fault and replaced the brake light switch, which sorted the problem out for a while. Now the faults returned, just a month after the new switch was fitted. It only happens at prolonged speeds of just over 70mph though, I'm wondering if theres a wheel out of balance and its sensing it, maybe 'rattling' the brake light switch which in turn throws up a fault. (there is a slight vibration on the steering wheel at the higher speed).
I'm going to get the wheels checked out and go from there.

There is an automatic suspension system which lowers the ride height when the vehicle reaches about 100mph, maybe this has caused the issue cutting in too early Just a thought
