Replacing the rear Parking Distance Control Unit (PCD) |
|
I've just replaced the original PCD Part No YWC500313, which has been intermittently functioning since I bought my D3 three months ago, with the latest model YWC500730. Initial checks all seems to be fine with the new unit.
However I have read that if any electrical connectors are removed the battery negative must be disconnected first otherwise fault alarms will be generated. Is this correct? If so do I have to visit the dealer to get them reset Keith
Always on the move

Nah, it will be fine. Battery does not need to be disconnected, but the key does need to be out of the ignition. Always wise to let the car "sleep" first.
Fault codes may be stored, but the system should function properly once the ignition has been switched off/on My D3 Build Thread
